The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power S2

Epic drama, set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien's 'The Hobbit' and 'The Lord of the Rings', that follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth.

Inland, the Rhûn scenes were situated in the Teide National Park. ‘ We knew we needed a location that was hot and sandy, Rhûn is a treacherous and vast environment, and Tenerife offered all that’, says executive producer Lindsey Weber.   ‘The Canaries gave us a vast, wide-open landscape that felt fresh and and new for Middle-earth,” says executive producer Lindsey Weber. ‘Spanish crew are excellent, and there is a great rebate for filmmakers, which is always appreciated.”

On its edges, Tenerife’s Charco de la Laja, a coastal pool formed of volcanic rock provided the location for a Númenórean Sea Trial.

The TV series was also shot on desertic spots in the South of the island as, Los Derriscaderos or San Blas reserve.
