PR-TF 10 Cruz del Carmen - Punta del Hidalgo. Section: Chinamada - Punta del Hidalgo

Medium-difficulty trail located in Santa Cruz - La Laguna

Chinamada is an old aboriginal hamlet in which some thirty cave houses are preserved in good condition and of great ethnographic interest, and which are currently inhabited. The path begins to the left of the Chinamada hermitage, which was recently built, along a path marked "La Punta del Hidalgo", which runs along the very steep Tomadero ravine.

The first stretches of the trail cross some terraces cultivated with potatoes and pumpkins, which then continues through a landscape of terraced terrain, among rocky outcrops, crags, red ochre and caves. In this environment you can find the deepest caves, which are often used as a refuge to rest or eat.

In the last third of the route, you reach Roque de Los Dos Hermanos, above La Fajana beach, where you can enjoy excellent panoramic views of the Anaga coastline. From here the path begins a rapid zig-zag descent along the southern slope of the rock towards the Río ravine, from where you reach Punta del Hidalgo along an uphill track.
Status: Certified path.
